Seit den 90er Jahren gibt es Adam Holzman's Band BRAVE NEW WORLD. Es ist dies nicht nur eine der nach wie vor kontinuierlich tourenden Bands des Genres, sondern auch eine, die sich mit immer neuen Einfällen beständig auf der Höhe der Zeit hält und eine ganz und gar hochkarätige Mischung aus Jazz, Rock und Funk bietet, die ihresgleichen sucht.
BRAVE NEW WORLD darf deshalb wohl ohne Zweifel als eine der besten instrumentalen Electric Jazz Bands unserer Zeit angesehen werden. Keine angestaubte Fusion wird hier geboten, sondern Jazz-Funk auf höchstem Niveau, voll gepackt mit Grooves, Vibes und wunderbaren Ideen, die die Konzerte zu echten Highlights werden lassen.
Adam Holzman spielte von 1985 bis 1989 mit Miles Davis. Nach seiner Mitwirkung auf Miles' Meilenstein TUTU wurde er zum musikalischen Direktor der Miles Davis Group. Kleinere Besetzungen folgten, zwei Jahre Duo mit Michel Petrucciani, eine Welttournee mit Chaka Khan und die Zusammenarbeit mit Wayne Shorter. Er war Mitglied der Wallace Roney Group und in Gregg Bendian's Mahavishnu Project.
Mit BRAVE NEW WORLD zeigt Holzman seit vielen Jahren, was er am besten kann: groovigen, knallharten Funk-Jazz mit schier unglaublicher Energie, brachialen Grooves, knackigen Bässen, aber auch mit gefühlvollen Piano- und Keyboardsounds. Damit dieses Konzept aufgeht, hat Holzman mit BRAVE NEW WORLD eine wahre 'Killer Band' zusammengestellt: Aaron Heick am Saxophon spielte für Chaka Khan, Paul Simon und viele andere, Bassist Freddy Cash war u.a. mit Jean-Paul Bourelly und Arrested Development zu hören, Gitarrist Mitch Stein tourte mit David Sanborn, Tania Maria, Mino Cinelu und vielen anderen. Der neue Schlagzeuger Abe Fogle ist ein vitaler Drummer, der mit Kool and the Gang, KC and the Sunshine Band, Kenny Garrett, Jon Hendricks und vielen anderen tourte.

Adam Holzman & BRAVE NEW WORLD is quite likely one of the best instrumental jazz-rock bands around. A consistent concert draw since the mid 90's, Brave New World has proven to be one of the more enduring and consistent of the current electric jazz groups. Since its debut at the Saratoga Jazz Festival in 1993, they have continued to excite audiences in the US and Europe with their high energy performances and their fresh take on the jazz funk equation.
Adam Holzman & Brave New World have completed eight successful European tours and have performed in the U.S. at the Saratoga Jazz festival (1993 &1998), Symphony Space's Wall-to-Wall Miles tribute, special university concerts including the New School University, and numerous concerts and gigs in the New York City area. They have also done special workshop/clinics at music schools in Graz, Austria and Hannover, Germany.
Adam Holzman & Brave New World have released four studio albums, all of which have received critical acclaim, and a collection of live 'bootleg' CDs, the "Alive Series." A new album release is in the works. Adam Holzman is simply one of the most innovative musicians alive.
